It is really you!

Then, the silhouettes stopped me from seeing you
Oh! I know he is the one; but this struggle, is this really true?

Love is always one sided is what I believed
When our glances met, my love for you was cleaved.

Soon we liked, loved and got severely attached
Our love conquered the whole city but we were jinxed to be detached.

Seasons changed, years passed, skin is pale but love was still searched for
New lives came, things were fresh but it was all happening outside because you were still very far.

Heart skipped a beat when I saw you today
I felt a fresh breeze, new life, a whole new enthusiasm and I was all ready to slay.

That moment of joy my head was hallow and heart was stupidly in love indeed
Thoughtless, emotions empty, not an iota of physical craving creeped.

Wiping my tears of delight, I came close to you
A hand on your neck, a peck on your cheek came not from me but that was your little daughter dove.

Something strong shook me and I realised then, I was so close to you yet I felt you were still not here
Ran into his arms who always made me feel special and near.

How kind were you to accept me as I was though you missed me each moment from within
It took me so long to realise that it was really you and I would like to finally forget the past to move on and begin.

It is really you! You who has to leave the past in the past because such is life and not everyone will wait for years to accept YOU.

PS: Inspired by an episode of Modern love ‘when Cupid is a prying journalist’ which shows how we hang on to the past and never realise the fruits of present and future.

I’ll wait for you!

From the windows I peep, behind the doors I hide.
Waiting for you oh! Mother, My big blue eyes opened wide.

You walk in with an infectious smile, looking for me who is all shy.
Your sweet voice tries to yell, I’m looking for a bird where did it fly?

Behind the screen I stand, hypnotised at your beauty.
God must have taken a lot of time to craft such an artistry.

Still looking for me you said, so many days passed without a hug and a kiss, I wonder where my little bird is?
Ah, I’m so tired, I want to get fresh but first, let me touch my beautiful whizz.

I flew to you without further-ado, holding you tight was all that I wanted to do.
In your eyes you held infinite affection but it was also dark and blue.

I waited for you for so long, did you not want to see me? I cry.
Today you look like a goddess, I really want to be half as beautiful as you before I die.

Never say that my little bird, an empty canvas is better than a bad painting she said.
My life is full of lusty people around me, who don’t even care if I’m alive or dead.

For you I live, for you I strive, you are the one behind my existence.
My beauty is all there is and I have no clue about my life’s distance.

I’m sure your journey was long, the paths were thorny.
I’ll become your falcon and protect you from all that’s uncanny.

I promise to see only that prettiest side of you.
From the windows I’ll peep, behind the doors I’ll hide and I’ll always wait for you.

Tree Story!

What’s life after death  like? Do I believe in afterlife? What will I be doing in my afterlife?

I think I know the answer already.

Something struck me when I was travelling in Croatia last weekend. Nature’s beauty is preserved so well in this country, clear blue seas, not even a piece of paper on the streets, high respect to the nature so on and so forth.

As I drove around the country I wondered about how beautiful it would be to be a tree. Since the birth, during life and afterlife they are considered useful. I love to think spiritually and connect spiritually with most of the actions I take in my life and I wanted to continue something similar in my afterlife too.

I quickly asked my husband. I know you can survive without me but I cannot, so, if I leave one fine day, will you promise me to put my ashes in my garden and grow a tree on it?  As someone who has been tolerating my stupidity, he calmly answered okay, I will.

What happens if I become a tree, I will still be alive, I will still have a life, I’ll be giving life to many lives around me, I’ll live and die for others and still be alive. I will be helping humans to survive and I’ll be helping nature to be preserved. There will be houses built all over me in the form of pretty nests which will bear many lives such as birds/butterflies etc. I will see the world through their eyes. They will carry me with them, fly out one day, put me in different parts of the world and my legacy will live on.

My life and afterlife will always be what I wanted it to be, fly high, see places and enjoy life.

Live life and afterlife.

Captivated forever...

The hold, the touch, the feeling flow
The tune that makes me aglow.

I beg not to stop your divinity
Every minute, every second I adore your creativity.

You are my constant when I am happy
You never left my side when I was snappy.

From you I learn to be grateful and inspired
You are the one I always admired.

I am being carried away in your powerful rivulet
With you I’m born again, you are my life’s duet.

Music~~ Forever indebted to Your hold, your touch and your feeling flow.
In you, I’m captivated forever...

Far far away!

Does beauty lie in the eyes of the beholder or was she actually that beautiful?

I was with her all this while but never really saw her this way before. Eyes were not enough to capture all that beauty of hers. I was awestruck to see her smile from far far away.

All geared up for my first skydive, I had butterflies in my stomach and had sleepless nights from two days before. I was prepping myself from days to get this lifetime experience. Whenever I saw people hanging out of the plane to jump off of it, I was like, why do I have to pay so much to have a dying experience. Little did I know that I would get to see this World in a whole new view.

4am in the morning my alarm wakes me up to remind me of an amazing day ahead of me. With mixed feelings and lack of confidence, I got ready to leave. Motivated myself to check how to pose when I’m up in the air, with a sleepy eyes and a lot of dreams in it to experience the time of my life, I gathered my guts and started to the sky diving center.

All the way along I was just seeing the skies and thinking to myself I will be there in a while with you buddy. Hold on, I’m not sure if I can do this but still I’m coming to you. Quarter to Seven I reach North London Skydiving center. Of course the excitement showed off  because I  was the first one to reach amongst 85 other crazy jumpers that day.

Heart beats rose as the center opened at half seven. I know it’s not a great thing to be suggesting/doing but to be frank I did not read the T&C’s in the form which I signed which clearly stated the risk of life and I happened to read this only once I came back from my jump. The instructors made us do all the trainings and made us ready for the jump.

Cut to— I was in make it or fake it stage and posed away with all smiles. All the safety checks were completed and my instructor asked our last wishes by the way he really did this to get some giggles for the camera but from inside I was terrified.

Inside the flight, on the runway, with all the gears ready I sat there sheepishly praying for my poor life. Thanks to my instructor Chris who was super energetic and passed on his positivity by his stories of individual jumps and kept on saying that world looks incredible from up above.

That moment was finally there which I was waiting for a long time now. At 15000 feet above the door of the flight opened, I took a glimpse of her from the corner of my eyes, she stood there beautifully beyond belief.  All of a sudden I was not scared at all, I was that one person who hanged out of the door up above the sky and jump it off with all smiles on my face.

And then, I had this beautiful world under me! Far far away from all the problems.

Live life to the fullest coz in the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take. Your wings already exists, you just have to fly!

You are here and forever!

As I look back and see the life which has gone by
I couldn’t imagine my being without you to soar high
Right from the first few steps to a good bye
You are here and forever my dad!

As I move on and pause in the pursuit of my happiness
How could I ever not know that you were in pursuit of my progress
Right from taming a teenager to what I’m today
You are here and forever my dad!

As I move on and enjoy the best of what you have given
I beg your pardon and thank you for all that you have striven
Right from protecting me from all the odds to the independence you have showered
You are here and forever my dad!

Dedicated to all the protective fatherly souls in my life and in yours!
Thank you— For today and forever!

Bristol's Friendly Ghost--BFG (A true incident)

A place near London, Milton Keynes. A very pretty city where my daughter Ranjana and son-in-law Abhishek live. For now, this is our home for couple of months. We were all exited and geared up on a beautiful Saturday morning to visit Bristol for International Balloon fiesta.

Though the Balloons did not fly for obvious reasons #goodweather,  we couldn't forget the amazing food we had at Abhishek's friends which gave us more joy than seeing balloons fly. After heavy dinner, we started back to Milton Keynes around 10pm. Who
knew what awaited us on our way back home.

As we sang, played word games and were bored, we were looking for something exciting. Ah! All the motorway roads are closed. Isn't it exciting Abhishek exclaimed! It was around 11pm, thick forest, pitch dark all around, big lavish houses which looked haunted, silence was the only sound we could hear.

While we were constantly looking for help in a no mans land, there we saw an elder lady on her powered wheelchair. For once we ignored her and stopped our car beside a huge house to seek help from technology. Abhishek was busy asking google to take us home. Thanks to the thick forest, we did not have any mobile reception there.

People here strictly follow early to bed early to rise policy. While we were shocked to see a lady at that hour, Ranjana scared us by saying, Mum, would that be a ghost? To see a lady who was well built with long grey hair anyone could have a weak heart. All the scary stories we heard in our childhood days crossed our minds.

Ranjana's dad wanted to scare us more and started narrating an incident which her granddad faced very long back in our native village. While granddad was coming back home he got lost in the middle of no where in a huge jungle, right then he met one of the workers who worked for grandad and that person helped grandad reach home. What's scary in that Ranjana asked sarcastically? When her dad continued the story--- when granddad thanked the worker the next day for his kindness, the worker was surprised and told granddad that he was not in town from past 2 days. That's when we were super scared and didn't want to get down from our car. Some ghosts will be friendly too, dad laughed!

Scared and still looking for help, we hear someone knock on the car window. Whom should we see when we lift our heads? It's none other than the lady we were talking about all these while. Ranjana was so scared and she was not willing to open the window. All of us in the car gave a willing nod and Abhishek opened the window. There she was standing tall asking if we were lost. Ranjana and I were sweating in that cold weather while Abhishek and Ranjana's dad sat calmly in the car.

The lady shook my shivering hand when we realised that she was not a ghost but a friendly person who helped us with her old fashioned map, explained the routes for atleast 15 minutes, marked each and every landmarks for us and made us reach home safe. Hats off to her geography, she was god sent.

Laughing at our mental blocks and feeling sorry for the judgements we made, we thanked her kindness and knowledge in our hearts. As we spoke about this incident all the way long, we did not get to know how fast we reached home.

We really wanted to call her and tell her how thankful we were for her help, sadly we did not have her contact. As we slept peacefully in the night, someone asked me with a low voice--- Were my instructions right? I hope you guys reached home safe.

Next morning! I woke up all perplexed, as to who that was! I still wonder, who that was?
